The cooking grate is made of bare cast iron that has been seasoned. It is flat and has no lip under the outside edge. The diameter is designed to fit the rec tea bullseye. It is perfect for turning a 5-gallon metal bucket into a barbecue grill for on-the-go cooking. The cast iron grate is great for creating beautiful grill marks and is easy to clean. The only maintenance required is a quick clean after each use with a wire brush and then application of cooking oil via a paper towel held by tongs and just drag across the grate.
