The LEXIVON V18 Chopping Axe is an 18-inch lightweight fiber-glass composite handle and ergonomic TPR grip axe that is great for cutting brush and limbs. It is better than the 12" or 14" versions as it provides a better swing and more head speed without the weight of a full-sized axe. However, the axe is not sharp coming from the factory and needs to be sharpened. Nonetheless, it seems to hold an edge pretty well. While some customers have received the product with a broken carrying case, the case is said to have been of cheap quality and can easily be replaced. Some customers have reported that the axe is good for severing tree roots but not for splitting rounds into firewood, for which a wedge type axe is needed. One customer's axe broke while they were using it to split wood. Overall, Lexivon V18 axe is a quality product that comes with a good price.
