Chip Theory Games Games & Accessories STR-ADD-001 Editorial Review
**** The 20 Strong Expansion: Too Many Bones deck is an engaging addition to the solo play dice management game that attracts both newcomers and seasoned players alike. Designed to complement the original game, which comes with the "Solar Sentinels" deck, this expansion boasts a new set of cards and bosses, keeping the core mechanics intact while introducing unique strategic elements. Notably, the inclusion of universal character cards is a highlight, allowing players to mix and match characters across different decks, enhancing the game's replayability. Players have praised the game's well-Constructed components, which are made from a durable, plastic-like material, ensuring longevity during gameplay. The quality of the cards, described as both sturdy and visually appealing with excellent artwork and design, stands out among similar products. Instruction materials, including tutorial videos, help demystify the gameplay for new users, enabling a more seamless learning experience. While the deck introduces some fresh mechanics—like Encounters and Backup Plans—many users noted that the overall gameplay experience feels similar to the base game. This has led some players to feel that the changes, while interesting and adding depth to the game, do not significantly alter the core engagement of combat-focused gameplay. Thus, while the new expansion offers some complexity, it may not feel like a complete departure from what players have already experienced. In summary, the Too Many Bones expansion enhances the solo gaming experience for fans of the 20 Strong series, offering sufficient fresh elements to attract interest without losing the familiarity that many enjoy. Players looking for a deeper dive into the strategic aspects of this genre will appreciate the new mechanics, while those seeking an entirely different experience might find it somewhat lacking. **
