Proplus GIDS-231406 Split Escutcheon, 2" Ips, Chrome Plated Plastic

The Proplus GIDS-231406 Split Escutcheon has garnered a mixed reception among users, primarily due to its Construction and functional design. Many customers have found the split feature of this chrome-plated plastic escutcheon to be particularly useful, allowing for easy installation around pipes without the need to disassemble existing plumbing. This convenience has proven beneficial, especially in situations like sealing gaps against pests such as mice—one user reported successfully using it in conjunction with copper mesh to prevent unwanted rodents from entering their home. However, while the installation process is largely praised, concerns laced with disappointment emerge regarding the product's durability and finish. Users have flagged the chrome coating as being thin and prone to deterioration when exposed to moisture. Some have also critiqued the overall sturdiness of the product, describing it as "flimsy," with a tendency to scratch and break easily. Despite appearing visually appealing at first glance, the material's quality has failed to impress numerous buyers, leaving them to question whether it is worth the price given its perceived fragility. In essence, the Proplus GIDS-231406 Split Escutcheon serves its intended purpose effectively in certain scenarios but suffers from significant design and material shortcomings. **
