Evolution Power Tools Mitre Saws 052-0001A Editorial Review
The Evolution Power Tools R255SMS+ is a compound saw that offers multi-material cutting, 45° bevel, 50° mitre and a 300mm slide. It has a 1600W motor and uses a 255mm decal blade to cut through a range of materials. The saw is easy to assemble with a sturdy and heavy main body, the plastic levers and catches feel less secure though. The instructions are poorly written and can be confusing, the online video installation guide provides useful information. Two reviewers had issues when following the instructions, including one who had to return the saw. However, another found a way to reinstall a slider that had fallen out during the build. The saw should not be used for home purposes and is only suitable for workspaces that require efficient and high-quality cutting. Reviews said that it is robust and handles different types of wood and metal well. One review warned that the saw stopped working after 5 seconds from its first use, but this seems to be an isolated issue.
