What is the purpose of the SE Gold Prospecting Pan?
Answer: The SE Gold Prospecting Pan is designed to help gold prospectors sift through dirt and debris to find valuable minerals. The stainless steel mesh allows for efficient separation of finer materials from larger rocks. By using this pan, users can increase their chances of discovering gold and other precious stones in rivers, streams, or during outdoor explorations. -
Question:
How does the stainless steel mesh enhance the sifting process?
Answer: The stainless steel mesh of the SE Gold Prospecting Pan provides durability and strength, making it resistant to rust and wear. This means that it can withstand tough mining conditions. The fine mesh allows smaller particles of gold to pass through while retaining larger gravel and unwanted debris, ensuring that you quickly find the gold nuggets you’re searching for. -
Question:
What size materials can I sift using this classifier pan?
Answer: This classifier pan is designed to sift materials efficiently, filtering out particles larger than 1/12 inch. This size is optimal for separating out larger rocks and debris from smaller particles, making it an essential tool for anyone serious about gold prospecting. It allows for effective pre-processing of materials before moving to finer panning techniques. -
Question:
Can this classifier be used in various environments?
Answer: Absolutely! The SE Gold Prospecting Pan is versatile and can be used in various environments such as river beds, streams, and other mineral-rich areas. Its stackable design allows for easy transport while mining in remote locations, ensuring you have the tools you need no matter where you go. -
Question:
Is this classifier suitable for beginners?
Answer: Yes, this classifier is suitable for both beginners and seasoned prospectors. Its straightforward design and effective sifting capabilities make it easy for anyone to use. Beginners can easily learn how to separate materials efficiently, enhancing their prospecting skills while acquiring hands-on experience with the gold mining process. -
Question:
What should I know about cleaning and maintaining the classifier?
Answer: Cleaning the SE Gold Prospecting Pan is simple; just rinse it with water after use, ensuring all debris is removed. Regular maintenance involves checking the mesh for any signs of wear. A well-maintained classifier will perform optimally during every prospecting session, extending its lifespan and effectiveness in separating materials. -
Question:
Can this pan be used for purposes other than gold prospecting?
Answer: Yes, the SE Gold Prospecting Pan can be used for various applications beyond gold prospecting, such as sifting for gemstones or even separating sand and gravel for construction purposes. Its versatile design makes it a useful tool for both recreational enthusiasts and professionals who require effective separation techniques in various fields. -
Question:
What is the advantage of the stackable design?
Answer: The stackable design of this classifier allows for efficient storage and easy transportation when out in the field. It can be conveniently nested with other pans, saving space in your gear. This feature is particularly beneficial for prospectors who need to carry multiple tools but want to minimize bulk while traveling. -
Question:
How does the color of the pan impact its use?
Answer: The bright green color of the SE Gold Prospecting Pan helps in visibility, making it easier to spot small gold flakes against the pan's surface. Its vibrant hue also helps in identifying areas of dirt and debris effectively during the sifting process. The color thus plays a supportive role in enhancing your prospecting experience. -
Question:
Where can I buy the SE Gold Prospecting Pan in Kenya?

SE Metal Detector Parts & Accessories Editorial Review
SE GP2-14 Stackable Classifier is a light but sturdy sifter that comes in a 1/8" and 1/4" pan. It is perfect for sifting compost for seed starting, worm castings out of a worm bin, and dredging samples of creek sediment, mud soils, and river stones. Customers have found it to be excellent for sifting sand on the beach, for sifting soil for sapphires, and for filtering the dust from wood pellets. If used with dry compost, it sifts well, but if the compost is too wet, the wire gets coated with compost making it clog up. Customers suggest brushing off the wires with gloves, instead of banging the sifter against hard surfaces. The bottom inch of the sifter sits loosely inside a 5-gallon bucket, making it easy to put on and take off. In terms of size, customers suggest that a 1/30 or 1/50 size mesh may be suitable for mealworm sifting.
