Answer: The pockets are two-ply. They are a shiny fine rip-stop-type nylon inside the pockets, with the second ply being a stretch weave on the surface facing the body. The second ply on the outside of the jacket is whatever technical fabric comprises the exterior shell. No fabric is impervious to getting holes, but these seem fairly strong. -

SCOTTeVEST Pack Windbreaker is a high-quality jacket with a hood made in China. It has several inside zippered pockets made of two-ply material - a shiny fine rip-stop-type nylon inside and a stretch weave outside. The jacket is lightweight, breathable, and quick dry, and it is soft, producing little noise when walking. The jacket fits well, including the sleeve and torso length, and the zippers are robust and easy to operate. The previous versions had less room below the armpits, making this one an improvement. The jacket has all the pockets of the previous traveler models, is water-resistant, and has a built-in hood. The jacket is expensive but worth the price for its functionality. The Cons of the product include too many pockets that can get confusing, and things may fall out of the small pockets on the inner right panel of the jacket if not zipped up. It is more of a spring/fall jacket, and it would be nice to have a big pocket on the right inner part of the jacket. It can get heavy if all pockets are full.
