Answer: Yes, our Artichoke products are cooked. After the outer leaves have been removed the artichoke hearts are then boiled. -

Answer: The citric acid in our Native Forest® Artichoke products is derived from Non-GMO corn. Our company policy prohibits the use of genetically modified ingredients. -

What kind of salt do you use? I prefer sea salt or Himalayan.
Answer: The vendor did not provide this information, but the Real Salt brand is recommended. Unless a recipe calls for coarse salt- say a focaccia, (then I prefer a corse sea salt); I will always use https://realsalt.com/mine/ The salt profile really compliments the food highlighting and bringing flavors together in a way other salts cannot. If you haven’t tried it- it’s definitely worth a test, not to mention the health benefits. -

The goal of this program is the use of environmentally friendly pesticides, only as necessary. -

Answer: The excess salt can be removed by rinsing in cold water, draining well, and drying in a kitchen cloth. Like most canned items, salt and citric acid are used to preserve the food.
