I just bought this for the first time. Is it supposed to smell like the cork that closes the jar?
Answer: My cork smells like the saffron. -

Does it keep well and for how long? i have a friend moving away in a few months. can i order it now or should i wait until it's closer to the time?
Answer: I freeze it tightly enclosed and wad plastic wrap over the top of the threads to keep aromatics in and notice no deterioration in flavor for a couple of years. -

I would like to buy some saffron to add to black tea. Approximately how many threads would be good to use in a cup of tea?
Answer: I would start with one. It takes very little saffron to impact the flavor. And like any cup of tea, we have varied tastes. -
