Answer: SMR-207 Hot Rod Black can be applied directly over primer surfacer that has been finish sanded with 400-500 grit sandpaper. -

Answer: Yes, it is. The finish is chemical and rub resistant. -

Answer: This stuff works great looks good but everything shows up on it and is impossible to clean. -

Answer: Base coat... It’s a quality product, worked wonderfully on a 2013 HD road glide... Flat black. -

Can I add metal flakes to this paint? If so, what kind should I use?
Answer: It is a flat paint. I don’t know how well metal flakes will work. If you're going to clear over it, the flakes in the clear will show well. -

Can speedokote smr-207 be made flat with a different activator or by any other method?
Answer: Not that I know of. -

Car is painted red and the color is fading. Would this be enough to spray the whole car? It's a 1999 Lancer.
Answer: This will be more than enough. I painted a full-size van and applied two coats. -

Do I need a thinner to wipe the car down before painting?
Answer: You must scuff, clean, and dry the car before painting. Use wax and grease remover, smr-809. -

How many minutes does it take for this paint to be dry to the touch?
Answer: 25 to 30 minutes depending on temperature. -

Can I apply this product with a brush?
Answer: Speedkote is designed to be sprayed. It is too thin to be brushed. I wouldn't recommend brushing it.
