The assembly is straightforward and it includes a cooling fan. This product is designed with an SI3402 PoE controller for 48V. This product should be used with a passively vented or fan-equipped case. Unfortunately, this product has a high failure rate. Some customers have reported that the device is not compatible with Raspberry Pi CM4, it stopped working after 6 months, or it died after 9 months with a burnt smell. Some common points of failure include the PoE buck and internal shorting the chip. The customer's use case can determine how many PoE hats are needed, but the failure rate is an issue to Consider.
