Customer Questions & Answers

  • Question: What are Offset Mounting Canvas Z Clips used for?

Answer: Offset Mounting Canvas Z Clips are primarily designed for securely hanging and framing canvases. They provide a strong and stable support by allowing the canvas to sit flush against the wall while still being easily removable. This design makes them particularly useful for artists and photographers who need to showcase their work in a professional manner without compromising on aesthetics.
  • Question: How do I install the Z Clips for my picture frame?

Answer: To install the Offset Mounting Canvas Z Clips, first, attach one clip to the back of your canvas frame using the included #6 X 3/8 pan-head screws. Ensure it is aligned correctly, then mount the corresponding clip onto the wall. Simply place the frame onto the wall-mounted clip, and adjust until it is level. This system not only supports the weight of the canvas but also allows for easy adjustments if needed.
  • Question: Can these Z Clips be used for heavy artwork?

Answer: Yes, Offset Mounting Canvas Z Clips are robust enough for heavier artwork, provided they are installed correctly. Their offset design helps distribute the weight evenly, making them suitable for various canvas thicknesses and sizes. However, for exceptionally large or heavy pieces, it’s advisable to use multiple clips for additional support and stability.
  • Question: What is the depth measurement of these canvas clips?

Answer: These Offset Mounting Canvas Z Clips have a depth of 3/8 inches, which is designed to accommodate standard canvas thicknesses. This measurement ensures that the clips hold the canvas securely while providing enough offset from the wall for a visually appealing presentation. Adjustments can be made as needed depending on the specific requirements of your framing project.
  • Question: Are these clips suitable for home or professional use?

Answer: Absolutely! Offset Mounting Canvas Z Clips are suitable for both home and professional settings. Artists and galleries frequently use them due to their effective support and ease of installation. Additionally, they are perfect for personal art collections, creating a gallery-like atmosphere in your home without cumbersome wall fixtures.
  • Question: How many clips come in a pack?

Answer: Each pack of Offset Mounting Canvas Z Clips includes ten clips, making it ideal for framing multiple pieces or ensuring extra support for larger canvases. This quantity allows you to efficiently frame several artworks simultaneously or provide replacements for future projects, ensuring you have what you need when creativity strikes.
  • Question: Can I use these clips for other materials besides canvas?

Answer: While these clips are primarily designed for canvas, they can also accommodate lightweight frames made of wood or other materials. Their versatility makes them a great choice for various art mediums, including photo frames and lightweight wooden displays, enabling you to achieve a consistent look across your displays.
  • Question: Will the screws included work with different wall types?

Answer: The #6 X 3/8 pan-head screws provided with the Z Clips are engineered for standard installations; however, wall type considerations are necessary. For drywall, anchors may be needed, while masonry walls will require specialized screws. Always assess your wall type and use appropriate fasteners for optimal results when installing.

United Picture Hangers FBA_7396782 Editorial Review

If you are looking for sturdy and reliable picture frame clips, the 38 Depth-Offset Mounting Canvas Z Clips by United is an excellent choice. These clips are made of thick and strong steel, which makes them capable of supporting more than their intended purpose. The clips are suitable for attaching a 3/4 in canvas to a 1/2 in deep frame, and they line up flat, ensuring a secure fit. While the clips work fine and are of good quality, some reviews have noted that the product was not as advertised. Some customers received 1 inch clips instead of the 3/8 inch they were expecting. Additionally, the product only comes with 10 screws, while you need 20 to use all the clips. Overall, if you need sturdy and durable picture frame clips, the 38 Depth-Offset Mounting Canvas Z Clips by United is a great option to Consider. Just be aware that the product may not arrive as advertised, and you may need to order additional screws.
