- Toggle latches can be found on floor wings of double wing doors to lock them at the top and bottom. They are recessed into the door/window edge, so that they can only be seen and operated when the element is open. When locking, the lower square bolt pulls out a latch shoe, which then protrudes into an opening of the corresponding floor strike plate. The upper square bolt drives its latch shoe into a strike plate, which is embedded into the door frame at the top.
